Samsung’s initial strategy for the Galaxy Z TriFold’s US launch may have been overly cautious. The company limited production, reportedly selling the device at a loss following its debut in Korea. Despite these careful calculations, the TriFold quickly sold out in the US, leaving many interested buyers disappointed.

Reports from Korean media state that Samsung shipped only a few thousand units to the US. However, those units flew off the shelves in record time, and as of now, the device remains out of stock. But there is good news for eager buyers: Samsung plans to restock the TriFold soon.

TriFold Restock Expected by End of February

Fresh reports suggest that Samsung will bring the Galaxy Z TriFold back to the US by the end of February. While no exact restocking date has been revealed, this timeline aligns with Samsung’s Unpacked event, set for February 25 in San Francisco, where the Galaxy S26 will be unveiled. It remains unclear whether the TriFold will return before or after the Galaxy S26’s launch.

For now, the official Galaxy Z TriFold landing page simply states “Restocking soon,” with an option to sign up for stock alerts on Samsung’s online store.

Galaxy Z TriFold Price and Trade-In Uncertainty

When the Galaxy Z TriFold returns, expect it to carry the same hefty price tag of $2,899. However, the availability of trade-in deals remains uncertain. At launch, Samsung did not offer trade-ins for the TriFold in the US, and given that the company may be losing money on each unit sold, it’s possible that the trade-in program could never be introduced for this device.

Galaxy Z Fold 7: The Alternative for Now

While the TriFold remains out of stock, those looking for a premium foldable device that’s still available might want to consider the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Although the Fold 7 features only one hinge, its form factor offers its own set of advantages. The Fold 7 is currently the closest alternative for anyone who prefers a foldable phone but wants something they can actually purchase right now.
