Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 is gaining attention. Many devices will receive the upgrade, but the Redmi Note 13 series likely won’t. As some devices reach their end-of-life (EOL) phase, they miss out on major software updates.
The Redmi Note 13 series was released with Android 13, and it’s set to receive up to three major OS updates. However, it may miss out on HyperOS 4 as it nears the end of its upgrade cycle.
Xiaomi’s End-of-Life Plan for Redmi Note 13 Series
According to Xiaomi’s official EOL data, the Note 13 series is eligible for major updates only up to Android 16. After that, the series won’t receive future major OS upgrades, including HyperOS 4.
The following models are expected to miss out:
- Redmi Note 13 Pro
- Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G
- Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G
These devices launched with Android 13 and will receive updates up to Android 16. Afterward, no further major OS upgrades are expected.
Security Updates Will Continue
Even though the Note 13 series will miss HyperOS 4, it will continue to receive security updates until 2027 or 2028. These updates ensure that the device stays secure, even without the latest software features.
This is standard for Xiaomi devices, as many models follow the same upgrade path. Major OS updates are limited, but security patches are extended to offer continued protection.
Other Devices Likely to Miss HyperOS 4
The Xiaomi 12T may also miss the Android 17-based HyperOS 4 upgrade. Other devices will likely be excluded as they approach their end-of-life phase.
Xiaomi’s software update policies will continue to impact which devices get the latest features. Users of older models will need to monitor when their devices will stop receiving new OS updates.
