Samsung Galaxy devices expected to arrive in 2026 are already taking shape, according to early evidence from the GSMA database. While Samsung’s aggressive release cycle makes ongoing development a given, new listings now offer concrete confirmation that several premium Galaxy products are actively in the pipeline.
The GSMA database, which tracks model numbers used for network certification, has revealed multiple unreleased Samsung Galaxy devices. Among them are the Galaxy Tab S12 series, the Galaxy Watch 9, and what appears to be a true successor to Samsung’s rugged smartwatch lineup, widely referred to as the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
These early identifiers do not reveal specifications or launch dates. However, they strongly suggest that Samsung has moved beyond internal planning and into formal development stages for its next-generation hardware.
Samsung Galaxy Devices Expand With New Watch Models
At least two upcoming smartwatches appear in the GSMA listings, each with new model identifiers that align with Samsung’s naming conventions. The entries include SM-L345, believed to correspond to the Galaxy Watch 9, and SM-L716, which is widely interpreted as the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
This distinction is significant. The current Galaxy Watch 8 lineup uses model numbers SM-L320, SM-L330, and SM-L335 depending on size and connectivity. Meanwhile, Samsung’s existing Ultra smartwatch variants from recent years have shared a single identifier, SM-L705.
The appearance of a completely new model number for the Ultra line strongly suggests that Samsung is preparing a proper second-generation Ultra device rather than another incremental refresh. For users, that likely means meaningful hardware changes rather than cosmetic updates.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Signals a True Successor
Samsung introduced its Ultra smartwatch concept in 2024, positioning it as a rugged, premium alternative aimed at outdoor use and fitness enthusiasts. Until now, the company has relied on minor revisions instead of full generational upgrades.
The SM-L716 listing breaks that pattern. A new identifier typically reflects deeper internal changes, such as a redesigned chassis, upgraded sensors, or improved battery systems. While details remain scarce, the GSMA entry suggests Samsung is committing to the Ultra category as a long-term product line.
Samsung will likely unveil its 2026 wearables during its foldable-focused Unpacked event, which traditionally takes place in the summer. If that timeline holds, the Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 could debut alongside new foldable phones.
Samsung Galaxy Devices Show Tablet Strategy Shift
Beyond wearables, the GSMA database also lists two high-end tablets tied to the Galaxy Tab S12 generation. These entries include SM-X846 for the Galaxy Tab S12+ and SM-X946 for the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.
Notably absent is any reference to a base Galaxy Tab S12. This suggests Samsung may once again be reshuffling its tablet strategy. The company launched the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra last year, but the next cycle appears to skip the standard model entirely.
For comparison, the Galaxy Tab S11 carries model numbers SM-X730 and SM-X736, while the Tab S11 Ultra uses SM-X930 and SM-X936. The new numbering cleanly aligns with Samsung’s Plus and Ultra tiers, reinforcing the idea that the entry-level flagship tablet may be dropped again.
