Samsung is set to release the fourth One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series, with bug fixes and performance improvements. This follows three earlier betas, and the update brings the software closer to a stable release.
Expected around January 19 or 20, the update will be available to Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra users enrolled in the One UI 8.5 Beta Program. If you’re eligible, stay tuned for the new update.

What to expect in the One UI 8.5 beta update

This beta update will address several bugs reported by users following the third beta. Samsung plans to improve software stability and performance. The update could also introduce a newer kernel version, which may lead to smoother performance and enhanced security.
Security improvements are likely part of the update as well, ensuring a better and more secure user experience for Galaxy S25 users.

Post-beta releases and stable launch

After the fourth beta, Samsung may release two or three additional betas before the final stable version of One UI 8.5. The stable release will likely coincide with the Galaxy S26 series launch in late February 2026. The Galaxy S26 series will be the first to run One UI 8.5 out of the box.
The new devices will include features not available on the Galaxy S25 series, which will receive updates over time.

Improvements expected with One UI 8.5

The One UI 8.5 update will improve the system’s interface and optimize battery life. Users will also experience smoother navigation and better app performance. Multitasking features should become more fluid and responsive.
Security will be another key focus of this update, providing a stable environment for both personal and business use. These enhancements will ultimately improve the user experience as Samsung continues to refine One UI.

Looking ahead to the Galaxy S26 launch

The Galaxy S26 series will introduce new features and the first stable version of One UI 8.5. The new devices will also benefit from the latest technology and enhanced software.
While the Galaxy S25 series will receive software updates, the S26 lineup will mark the debut of One UI 8.5 with new hardware and additional features.
